Wednesday, June 24thA good-bye from Antoinetta, Claudio and Mama and ciao Malvarina and andiamo Orvieto ! This is a place Ken and I have wanted to come before, but never made it. Bella, the GPS, once again did a wonderful job and so did Ken. After 1 ½ hours we climbed up, up, up to the hill town and all sucked in when we came upon the narrow streets that were never intended for cars. We reached the top of one of the streets and right before us was The Duomo. It was one of the most beautiful exteriors we have ever seen It looked like 
we could drive through, but I had to remind myself we weren’t in Washington and this was not drive through coffee place ! Ken parked the car and he and Brian walked to the hotel, Minutes later, Ken returned with the owner (I think). He jumped in the driver’s seat and drove us through the very narrow streets to Hotel Duomo. It is just across from The Duomo and very nice. They say they have wi-fi, but we can’t seem to connect.A bite to eat and then inside The Duomo. Some of the stained glass is alabaster. Very pretty. Then we head down a path a marvel t the look out. Just amazing.The town feels empty, as have all of the places we’ve been except Florence. We ask, but they say business is okay, but it doesn’t feel that way. We have managed to not get rained on, although it is cooler than usual Goo walking weather, but we need some time to sit by the pool at our next stop. Only 1 night here.We had a light dinner (compsred to what we’ve been having) and turned in early. Orvieto is a charming town.
