Good news: The weather was beautiful in Monterosso.
Bad news; we had to leave. One more day would have been nice.
Good news: Ken was able to buy tickets on the fast express train so we wouldn’t have to change trains.
Bad news: a train derailed last night carrying propane and shut down the tracks between La Spezia and Rome. There were over 50 deaths. This meant our express/direct train tickets were worthless.
Good news: we were able to take the train to La Spezia.
Bad news: we had to stand around in a sweaty crowd and had to fight for seats on a packed bus in La Spezia (to take us to Pisa) with our entire luggage.
Good news: we saw the leaning tower of Pisa.
Bad news: we didn’t care anymore.
Good news: we were able to get pictures of us ‘holding’ The Leaning Tower up.
Bad news: we did it sitting down while having a beer…hey it was hot and had been a long day!
Good news: We met a nice man from Ireland. He told Jen and I that everyone had missed us (USA) and welcome back (referring to Obama). His wife said she felt like Sarah Palin was like a bad odor that wouldn’t go away. They actually got an atls out to see how far it ws from her house ! Also...EVERY Obama person says they LOVE Michelle.
Bad news: Nothing. It was a very nice chat.
Good news: The plane arrived
Bad news; the plane was running late by an hour and our bags were too big and had to check them in at $30 a bag. If the luggage gets lost, Ken will be the only one with a change of clothes.
Good news; we are all still friends and sitting at the gate in Pisa airport.
Bad news; we are sweaty and stinky. It has been a 10 hour day of traveling so far. Once we board at10:00 pm, we should arrive in Paris around midnight.

Well, that sounds like quite an adventure! Hope you can now relax and enjoy your stay in Paris. Can't wait to see pictures from France!
I just love the pictures, have fun in France, it seems like your writings that you can tell the difference from Italy and France. I like the sounds and the smells from Italy, nice and homey and warm....France will be where you put your nose up and take off to wherever you want to be....Have a great rest of your trip and I have enjoyed it so much. Just love getting up and seeing what you are doing through your blog and writings.
